How to add Social Media Icons to the Blogger side-bar

                                             

                                           

It can be really frustrating when you get visitors to your blog and you never get the chance to make them like your social media pages or follow you on them so that they can become a pool of organic traffic and you can easily re-target them and convert them to customers.This was my experience when I realized that by default, blogger does not make provision for you to link your social media pages to your blog.After much research, I was able to implement mine, and I will be sharing how I did it in these easy steps.
                                       

1)Search for 'free social media icons' on Google and download your choice of icons unto your computer

2)  Go to your blogger editor or admin page.Click on 'New Post'

3)In the title box, type in any thing but do not publish

4) Click on the picture icon highlighted in red to upload the social media icons that are on your computer.

5) Click on 'choose files' in the pop-up window you will see the moment you click on the picture icon and upload the social media icons.

6) Right-click on the particular icon you want to add to your blog, then copy the image address to your clipboard before you upload.Click on on 'Add Selection' to upload

7) After uploading the icon,it should look like this: Again, do not Publish

8)  Go to a blank word document and paste the image address.(You will be needing it soon)

9) Go back to the admin page (you can click on the blogger logo to get there).Click on 'layout' in the navigation pane to your left to reveal different layouts.Scroll down to the 'follow us' gadget  on the side bar and click on the pencil icon.

9) Type in the piece of code in the content space within the pop-up window you will see after clicking on the pencil icon:

 Copy your social profile address and paste where you have "copy and paste your social profiles address here." Copy the social media icon that you saved on the word document and paste it where  you have ''copy and paste your image address here.''

10) Click on save and view your blog.You will see the icon at the side bar if you added it properly.You should be taken to your profile page when you click on it.Repeat the process for as many social icons as you want to add.The height and width in the code are 50.You can adjust them if you want to make the icons smaller.

*Note:Addition or omission of a character in the code as small as a dot can ruin everything.So do well to copy and paste the codes accurately.
